BP4_Web 2.0 Review
Greetings Subscribers,
For today's Web 2.0 review, I am going to review and Learning Management System called Schoology. You can visit the website at www.schoology.com. If any subscribers do not know what a Learning Management System is, it is basically an online classroom, in which the instructors and students can meet, collaborate, learn, and exchange ideas and thoughts.
The Schoology software is extremely easy to use. The instructor logs in, and creates a course, and can create different sections of a specific course. After creating the course and sections, the instructor can upload documentation, assignments, tests/quizzes and even create discussion boards. The students and teachers can create profiles that help each other to put a name with a face, and help interaction not seem so distant.
One of the best parts to this LMS is the analytic tools. Different charts, graphs, etc. and be created at the click of a button that shows attendance, quiz scores, or whatever the teacher needs. Also, students can create posts on a wall, which is extremely similar to facebook and other web. 20 sites.
A sample course that I created was a basic course on audio production. The first lesson is about microphones, and microphone types.
I definitely recommend this tool to any instructor that is looking for a free online learning managment classroom.
